Donald Trump is President… Again.

If you had told me that I would win a million dollars if I believed for a second that Donald Trump would be President of the United States again, I would be a pauper. Because there is no way, no how, I would have agreed that there would be a chance.

But here we are in 2024. Here we are with Donald Trump as our President-Elect. Not only did he win, but he crushed the electoral votes.

There are a gazillion articles that discuss the politics of the election and people’s opinions. Here at GilTrib, we want to examine the other viewpoints, which say a lot about where people are in this country and what they keep hidden.

There were so many detestable things that people looked away from because they were concerned about their day-to-day quality of life. So many things that people knew what was wrong, but in this day and age, people are trying to make it from today to tomorrow. That is what decided this election.

And yes, race and gender played a role. Yes, people acted on things they would never express while in the privacy of the voting booth. Yes, minorities and women need to be as careful as possible until they see what the effect of the rhetoric will be going forward.

But going forward, people representing the people need to be mindful of what is most important to the people, not just the fringes of the people. National and Local Safety and Security, Financial Opportunity and Low Inflation, Climate Stability, Healthcare and Social Services, and Education Choices for parents in a changing world.

There are so many families with six-figure incomes who do not have any money for any quality of life that they deserve. Imagine how hard it is for single moms and dads.
